AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

Getting to and from San Francisco International Airport is both easy and convenient.

TAXIS
Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at the roadway center islands, on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of all terminals. Uniformed taxi coordinators are stationed at the taxi zones from 7:00 a.m. to 2:15 a.m. to assist passengers with questions or concerns. Travel time into the city: 35-90 minutes.
Metered rates apply to all destinations. Destinations either 15 miles beyond the limits of the City and County of San Francisco or 15 miles beyond the boundaries of San Francisco International Airport are charged at 150% of the metered rate. A USD $4.00 exit surcharge is included in all San Francisco taxicab meter fares for rides originating from San Francisco International Airport. The surcharge does not apply to rides dropping off at SFO. By sharing a ride, up to 5 persons can ride for the price of 1 person. Fare range to downtown San Francisco: USD $47.00-70.00 each way.

SHARED RIDE SERVICE
Several companies also offer shared ride service. Per person cost: USD $17.00 each way + airport access fees. Advance reservations are recommended though shuttle company representatives at the airport can assist upon arrival for most flight arrivals between 07:00 and 22:00. Arrivals at other times require advance reservations.
After gathering luggage at the baggage claim, follow signs for Shared Ride Vans (not Ground Transportation or Shuttle). Shared ride vehicles pick up at the center island. Airport Express offers a courtesy phone in the baggage claim area that you can use once you collect your luggage.
