Here is a quick update from one of our specialists "in the trenches":
Just returned from a sunny week in Key West and Orlando. Grabbed a car in Miami and headed down I-95 toward Key West and US Route 1. It's a 2 lane drive dotted with small towns and great views of the Florida Bay and the Atlantic. Four hours later arrived at Parrot Key Resort just 3 miles north of the end of Route 1. High marks for this lovely all suite resort, beautifully landscaped and intensely private setting. Key West is.... Key West. Duval Street is lined with restaurants, tee shirt shops and bars. Plenty to see and do: The Hemingway House where still abiding are cats descended from the original 6 toed Heminway cats, The Little Whitehouse of President Truman, Mel Fisher Maritime Museum with artifacts from the Spanish galleon Atocha and other 1622 sunken ships. Found a couple of fine restaurants worth repeat visits: Café Sole, a taste of Provance and Southernmost Café on the beach at the end of Duval.
Three days later we headed for Disney World, a doubleheader visit. After the winter we needed a sprinkle of pixie dust and a birthday celebration with our grandson who is interning with The Mouse. I’m glad to report the “World” is as upbeat as ever, customer service is at an all time high, the Polynesian has updated its’ room décor and dinner at the California Grill was as great as I had imagined it would be. At 10pm the lights were lowered and the music from the Magic Kingdom was piped in as we watched “Wishes” fireworks from that very unique vantage point. I definitely crossed that experience off of my bucket list. See our Bucket List.
Well that was my Easter week and now back to work. Let me invite you to experience the great state of Florida and the magic of Disney
