The Las Vegas Monorail, The Las Vegas
Monorail runs from the MGM Grand to the Sahara hotel.
The route has seven stations: MGM Grand, Bally's/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars
Palace, Harrah's/Imperial Palace, Las Vegas
Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and the Sahara. The
monorail is open Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00
a.m. and Friday - Sunday, 7 a.m. - 3 a.m. Rates for the
monorail are $5 for one ride, $9 for two rides
(shareable), $15 for an
unlimited one-day pass for one person and $40 for an unlimited
three-day pass for one person.
Taxis run regularly throughout the city and airport.
Buses run based on scheduled service and transport passengers to most major streets
in Las Vegas.

Red Rock Canyon
Red Rock Canyon is just 15 miles (24 kilometers)
west of Las Vegas. It is a scenic area of rock
formations and desert with a 3,000-foot
(910-meter) escarpment produced by a thrust
fault. Open to the public year-round and a
popular destination for hikers, bikers, joggers
and rock climbers, Red Rock Canyon offers a
Bureau of Land Management visitors center and is
home to feral horses, wild burros, bighorn
sheep, coyotes and a variety of desert plant
life.
Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam is an engineering wonder of the world
just 35 miles (56 kilometers) southeast of Las
Vegas. Formerly named Boulder Dam, this historic
man-made creation tamed the mighty Colorado
River and created North America's largest
man-made lake, Lake Mead. The 726-foot-high,
arch-gravity dam is 660 feet thick and forever
changed the face of the western United States.
On-site tours of the dam are available to the
public throughout the year.
Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon in western Arizona lies
approximately 300 miles (480 kilometers) or a
one-hour flight from Las Vegas. Over millions of
years, the Colorado River carved this natural
wonder that is one mile deep and 277 miles long.
Sightseeing air tours and ground tours of the
Grand Canyon depart Las Vegas daily for
half-day, full-day and
overnight excursions.
Death Valley National Park
Death Valley is located in western California,
135 miles (216 kilometers) from Las Vegas and a
mere 40-minute plane ride away. This scenic
wonder has the lowest elevation on the North
American continent at 280 feet (84.93 meters)
below sea level. Points of interest include
Zabriskie Point, 20 Mule Team Canyon and
Scotty's Castle. Tours are available.
Lake Mead Cruises
Lake Mead National Recreational Area is just 25
miles (40 kilometers) from Las Vegas at its
closest point. With more than 550 miles (880
kilometers) of shoreline, Lake Mead Recreational
Area offers outdoor enthusiasts year-round
opportunities for swimming, water skiing,
camping, boating, fishing, tours and cruises.
Rhyolite is a well-preserved ghost town
120 miles (193 kilometers) north of Las Vegas
near the small community of Beatty, Nevada, which
bills itself as the "Gateway to Death Valley."
Highlights of the area include ruins of the
Potter General Store, Newton's Grille, a school,
several major banks, a house made entirely out
of bottles and a railroad depot.
Spring Mountain State Parkis located 30
miles (48 kilometers) west of Las Vegas. This
historic ranch was a stopover for travelers on
the Mormon and Spanish trails. Once owned by
industrialist Howard Hughes, radio personalities
Lum and Abner and German munitions heiress Vera
Krupp, the Spring Mountain State Park is today
the site of seasonal outdoor theater and
concerts. The park is open year-round.
Valley of Fire
Valley of Fire State Park is only 55 miles (88
kilometers) northwest of Las Vegas and comprises
scenic landscapes, hidden canyons and unique red
rock formations. Petroglyphs and remains of
ancient Native American civilizations can be
viewed here and a Nevada Park Service visitors
center provides tourist information. The park is
open to the public year-round and tours are available.
Zion National Park
158 miles (254 kilometers) north of Las Vegas
across the Utah border, is a popular winter ski
resort. Colorful sandstone canyons, hot rocky
deserts and cool forested plateaus are all part
of Zion National Park. Zion Canyon is the
largest and most visited canyon in the park.
Here, the Virgin River has carved the river and
the tree and grass-covered canyon floor.

China Grill's menu contains over 40

Michael Mina's is located in the
Bellagio. Chef Michael Mina creates an
innovative seafood menu with a distinct blend of

Mix, located at the top of THEhotel,
is the vision of Alain Ducasse, the culinary
world's most renowned chef. The restaurant
features contemporary and classic French and

Broadway's biggest success story takes you behind the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and follows their rags-to-riches tale of four blue-collar kids working their way to the heights of stardom. Featuring such hits as "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," "Oh, What a Night," and more, "Jersey Boys" will have you singing along just like the crowds of Broadway.
In 2006, The
Venetian debuted "Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular."
The show is permanently housed in a $40 million theater. The
95-minute production includes never-before-seen special effects,
a jaw-dropping reproduction of the Parisian opera house where
the story takes place, and all the beloved songs from the
original Andrew Lloyd Webber production. "Phantom of the Opera"
has grossed more than $3 billion worldwide since its London
debut in 1986. In January 2006, it became the longest running
show in Broadway history, surpassing "Cats."
Jubilee at Ballys
is a true Las Vegas experience. Costumes,
showgirls, the lights, talented singers and stunning dancers
make up this high glitz Las Vegas production. This is a larger
than life production extravaganza thats dazzled crowds for 25
years.
The city famous for having "something for everyone" furthers the
proof to its claim when the sun goes down. After dinner, you can
experience a variety of night spots from elaborately
themed clubs to the new wave of upscale "ultra lounges" sweeping
the Strip. There is a wide array of offerings,

Strip. PURE recently topped E! Entertainment's list of the

Carnaval Court at the entrance to
Harrah's is a festive place to cocktail it up and watch cover
bands.
Another legendary New York bar that is now in Las
Vegas is
Coyote Ugly at New York-New York. It's now world-famous
bartenders dance atop the bar and sass customers.
Better red than dead. Red Square
inside Mandalay Bay is home to a frozen block of ice that runs
down the center of the bar to keep beverages chilled. In the
vodka locker there are hundreds of vodkas frozen and ready for
consumption.
Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York is as authentic
a pub as you will find on the Strip. The parts making up the
decor were all imported with the beer. There's bangers n' mash
to keep you fueled through the night.
House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino has a
capacity of approximately 1,800, the legendary House of Blues
plays host to an eclectic mix of live music.
One of the nation's
largest microbreweries, the
Monte Carlo Brew Pub, is located at Monte Carlo Resort
and Casino, and downtown's Main Street Station houses the
popular
Triple 7 Restaurant & Brewery, recently named by the Las
Vegas Review-Journal as one of Las Vegas' "hidden gems."
Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce at Mandalay Bay is the home
to Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce burlesque troupe. The lounge features
a low bar, plus lounge chairs, tiered seating, cocktail tables
and features hip hop music.
Mix Lounge is located high atop THEhotel. This
fashionable hotspot is one of the most stylishly hip lounges
around offering stellar cocktail concoctions, an innovative bar
menu and a seductive blend of music spun by savvy DJs. Reserve a

MGM Grand's
Studio 54, the namesake of the '70s and '80s New York
nightclub that defined an era, was recently named "Best Place to
Dance" by the Las Vegas Weekly's Reader's Poll and the Las Vegas

found their new nighttime paradise at
Tao Nightclub at The Venetian. New York City's celebrity
haven opened its Las Vegas location in fall 2005 to much
